Chairperson

Do you have the ambition to take your leadership skills to new heights? Become a Committee Chairperson and get ready to make our events bigger and better than ever before! In this role, you will have the autonomy to practice delegation and leadership over a 4-6 person committee. You’ll be responsible for leading a team to create one of ECE Student’s most successful events. This position promises to be both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to grow in a professional and entrepreneurial environment!

We are looking for a chairperson who is able to:

  • Strategise
  • Remain sensitive to the opinions and feelings of all members of your team
  • Delegate responsibility in an equal manner
  • Remain impartial and objective in decision making 
  • Care about the punctuality and organisation of team meetings
  • Demonstrate prior experience in team management (prior experience is not necessary, but very useful)

 

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Setting up the goals for your committee
  • Updating the Policy Plan
  • Properly allocating funding towards your event(s)
  • Preparing and leading meetings (using visual aids/agenda)
  • Creating a timeline of general deadlines throughout the year
  • Ensuring that tasks are allocated fairly and are done on-time (send reminders, tasks list after each meeting)
  • Keeping the spirit and enthusiasm of the committee high (through icebreakers and team building at the start of the year, and team social events/activities as the year continues)
  • Setting the tone for work ethic for the committee (e.g. no phones, punctuality, snacks and breaks)
  • Making sure minutes are taken at every meeting
  • Updating your board supervisor(s) every week on the progress of the committee

Event Manager

Are you the type of person to organise parties for your friends or plan your vacation itineraries down to the hour? We are looking for creative and organised individuals with an eye for detail and aptitude for time management to join our team as Event Managers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the logistical execution of our events. This position will give you the opportunity to successfully launch large-scale professional events, bringing ECE Students to a whole new level!

We are looking for EMs who are able to:

  • Demonstrate a great eye for detail
  • Proficiently manage their time
  • Communicate effectively with good interpersonal skill
  • Plan and organize events with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Book and schedule speakers/workshops/vendors

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Defining the concept and internal activities of the event(s)
  • Creating a timeline of tasks throughout the year with aid of Chairperson
  • Organising all logistics (location, schedule, entertainment, accommodation, prizes)
  • Communicating with contacts necessary to the internal affairs of the event(s) (e.g. food vendors, prize sponsors, entertainment sources)
  • Managing communication with participants (registration, email welcome, reminders)
  • Overseeing the entire flow of the event(s) 
  • Setting the tone and theme of the event(s)

External Relations Manager

As an ER Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of securing partnerships with some of the biggest startups and corporates in the Netherlands. If you have a knack for networking or enjoy talking to new people, you’ll be sure to find this role a rewarding experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a huge network as you work to land ECE Students the most valuable companies and speakers for our events!

We are looking for ERs who are able to:

  • Foster professional relationships with new companies and contacts 
  • Manage time effectively
  • Write in a professional manner
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills 

 

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Visualising an action plan for the acquisition of sponsors/speakers for event(s) with the aid of the Chairperson
  • Writing email templates to send to potential sponsors
  • Researching details regarding companies and contacts in order to personalise networking methods
  • Contacting companies through email, phone, LinkedIn and other social media
  • Write content for a sponsorship booklet/brochure with aid of Chairperson
  • Maintaining responsibility for all further communication (throughout the academic year) with potential partners/contacts

Event and Brand Manager

Have you got a passion for marketing and design, but still want the excitement of working in an event committee? Our Brand Ambassadors gain the best of both worlds! This position allows you to participate in the internal development of an event committee from start to finish while acting as the primary source of communication with the marketing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring clear communication between two crucial parts of ECE Students. Even better, you’ll be able to let those creative juices flow as you take the lead in the marketing strategy behind your event(s)!

We are looking for BAs who are able to:

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Show a passion for marketing and branding
  • Show an interest in developing graphic design/marketing skills
  • Commit to internal deadlines 
  • Communicate with others efficiently at short notice

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Managing expectations between two different committees (marketing and event) through clear communication
  • Devising a marketing strategy under budget constraints with aid of Chairperson
  • Developing a clear image of the event with aid of EMs
  • Communicating deadlines established by event committee to marketing committee
  • Writing content for marketing purposes (e.g. FB posts, Instagram posts, etc.)
  • Handling last-minute marketing responsibilities (e.g. visual aids, poster design/content, social media design/content)
