Social Media Manager

Do you roll your eyes at misaligned text and poor font choices? Do you get excited about bright colors and have a Pinterest board with all your favorite graphics? We are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker, someone who can create captivating designs for all our social media platforms, posters and banners. This position requires great time management skills as you will be working in close collaboration with other ECE students committees on various projects throughout the year.

We are looking for Social Media Managers who:

  • Like to come up with cool, crazy and risky ideas and think independently
  • Preferably have some experience using graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator or are willing to invest time in learning these skills quickly through online courses
  • Proficiently manage their time
  • Have a great eye for detail
  • Are OCD about text alignment, color choice and consistent branding

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Creating stunning graphics for our events (including social media posts, posters, banners and merchandise)
  • Working collaboratively with other committees for specific events
  • Maintaining a consistent design aesthetic within each event and developing a clear image of an event (with the help of the respective committee), which also fits within the ECE branding
  • Managing expectations between marketing and other committees
  • Communicating deadlines to other committees
  • Handling last minute design responsibilities
  • Working within a budget and being able to maximize reach while keeping costs low
  • Optional: Redesigning ECE students long-term marketing materials for a more cohesive brand in the future

Workload: 8-10 hours per week

Website Manager

Are you a tech-savvy and passionate marketing student? This position might be the right fit for you!  The Website Manager will develop and implement the organization’s web-based marketing strategy to promote the brand, attract visitors and potential leads, and generate the sales of events & memberships.

We are looking for Website Managers who:

  • Like to come up with cool, crazy and risky ideas and think independently
  • Are proficient with WordPress
  • Have a strong vision and intrinsic motivation to create unique and captivating content
  • Are a bit frustrated with the standard, sub-par content student organizations tend to put out.

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Regularly updating the website of ECE Students and other projects
  • Designing the content for a website

Workload: 8-10 hours per week

Marketing Coordinator

Do you have the leadership skills, perfect grammar and a talent for making things sound captivating? We are looking for someone who likes to write and will be in charge of our communication over social media and other channels such as newsletters, as well as will be able to manage the team. We would like to have someone who will be able to supervise a team, work on social media and graphics, as well as creating the texts for a website and social media. We are looking for Marketing Coordinators who:

  • Have a great sense of humour
  • Have great leadership skills
  • Experienced in Marketing
  • Can’t stand grammar mistakes

Your responsibilities would include:

  • Working collaboratively with members of the marketing committee
  • Hosting the marketing committee meetings, setting deadlines and supervising the team
  • Writing captions for social media posts (including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn)
  • Writing the monthly newsletter which summarizes all of our most important events and is sent out to all our community members
  • Replying to questions on our social media pages
